Hannah Hart-Kent
A UK-based animal biologist and educator who mixes solid science with sharp humour. Passionate about animal science and making learning fun, they turn wildlife facts into stories worth sharing. When not writing, they’re avoiding being an adult and spending time outdoors with the pets.
Hannah is a fully qualified lecturer in Animal Science with over 12 years of experience, specialising in supporting SEND and non-mainstream learners. Having overcome a difficult upbringing and the challenges of ADHD and mental health, she has built a diverse career across animal industries including veterinary practice, retail, livestock farming, charities, and rescues. A successful course manager, she later branched into freelance work after Covid, which led to welfare consultancy in live animal testing laboratories, zoo enclosure design, exotic rescue and rehabilitation, and farm animal enrichment. Hannah went on to work as a Field Health Technician with the UK Animal and Plant Health Agency before choosing to follow her own path into small business ownership and publishing. She now strives to continue educating the next generation of animal scientists, supporting educators, and enhancing animal welfare through talks, lectures, and outreach.
